A. Camino Lakes respects everyone's political right to free speech and will allow political signs on a resident's property 90 days prior to an election and must be removed 7 days after an election. Q: How should homeowners maintain their landscaping?
A: The Declaration of Restrictions (Article XIII Minimum Landscaping and Maintenance) states that owners "maintain all their hedges, lawns, plants and shrubs in a neat and trim condition at all times."
Q: What are the rules on garbage containers?
A: The Declaration of Restrictions (Article XIV Garbage Disposal..) states that "Owners will provide a place for containers holding all garbage and rubbish. Such containers shall be fully enclosed, covered and not visible to neighbors."
Q: What should I do if I want to install a fence?
A: Before installing a new or changing an existing fence, you should submit an Application for Home Improvement to the Architectural Committee. You can find the form here. To maintain the open look of the neighborhood, fences may not extend from each side yard past the front line of the house."
Q: What are the rules for boats?
A: The Declaration of Restrictions (Article XII Supplemental Restrictions) states that "no boats shall be visibly stored or parked on any residential street."

Q: How many Directors and Officers of the Association are there and how are they chosen?
A: There are at least 3 Directors who are elected at the annual membership meeting. The Directors elect the officers: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. (By-Laws Article Seven Board of Directors)
Q: What are the committees of the Association?
A: At present, the only committee is the Architectural Committee, which is a permanent committee of 3 people. (By-Laws Article Ten Committees)
Q: What does the Architectural Committee do?
A: To ensure continued high standards, the Architectural Committee approves or disapproves of all plans and specifications for development. (Declaration of Restrictions Article XI Architectural Committee)
Q: When is the annual membership meeting?
A: The annual membership meeting is the third Monday in January unless that day is a legal holiday. (By-Laws Article Four Meetings as revised 1-25-99)
Q: What is the quorum required to conduct business at the annual membership meeting?
A: 15% of the members constitutes a quorum to conduct business at the annual membership meeting. (By-Laws Article Four Meetings)
Q: How are vacancies in the Board of Directors filled?
A: Vacancies in the Board are filled by a vote of the remaining members of the Board for the balance of the year. (By-Laws Article Seven Board of Directors)
Q: What are the key responsibilities of the President?
A: The President is the Chairman of the Board and presides at all membership meetings. The President presents an annual report of the work of the organization at the annual membership meeting. The President is also one of two officers who can sign checks for the Association. (By-Laws Article Eight Officers)

A: The By-Laws can be amended by a majority vote of the voting members at the annual meeting (By-Laws Article Twelve Amendments).
